Particle Theory
National curriculum requirements:
- Particulate nature of matter. Particles arrangements in solids, liquids and gases.
- Comparing and grouping materials together, according to whether they are solids, liquids or gases.
- Changes with temperature in motion and spacing of particles. Changes of state of matter with temperature: freezing, melting, boiling, condensation. Evaporation and condensation in the water cycle.
- Mixtures and separation techniques.
- Physical and chemical changes. Signs of chemical reactions.
